2013 Trek 4900 Disc

Ready for long rides and tough trails, Trek's 4900 Disc will take you where ever you want to go. It's perfect for the dirt as well as great for commuting, running errands, and everything in between. It boasts Trek's light, nimble-handling Gold Series aluminum frame that shares the DNA of Trek's top-line bikes, with geometry that lets you conquer the climbs and rip the descents. And the 4900 boasts a 3x10 Shimano Deore/XT drivetrain, a 100mm-travel SunTour fork and Avid hydraulic-disc brakes. Plus you get a host of fine Bontrager components.

      Comments:

A huge upgrade from my old bike. This guy can fly down the hardest trails. The hydraulic disc brakes and the lock out suspension switch are the selling points of this bike, two really great features.

      Comments:

IMO, this bike is a better value than the 6000 as the only differences are different hubs/brakes/grips/tires and really only avid users would recognize the differences. it handles great and (a big plus for me) has a pretty normal frame. As I mostly have ridden road bikes, it seems heavy but not a deal breaker.
