      Comments:

I bought this after multiple back and neck injuries believing that it would be good for fitness. (I am 35 a veteran and former athlete) This is my first bike so I didn't fully understand what I was getting in to. The bike shop was fairly misleading as well. I outgrew this bike within 3 months but promised myself that I would put 1000 miles on it before trading up. (300 to go!) It is only relatively decent at casual strolls through the park. Its not quite comfy enough or upright enough to really enjoy a true recreational ride. The gearing is great for climbing hills and very slow rides. It will get you going on the street for fitness, though it is not quite set up for efficiency. Seat and pedal placement was tricky. And it is not very stable as the front fork is not raked out very far. So, hands on the bars at all times. I do appreciate the oversized tires as they absorb a lot of shock from the road. The seat and post also help with this. The geometry is perfectly(frustratingly) in-between recreation and road. In my case I guess it is a "glass half empty" scenerio. When I want it to be a fitness bike it comes close but misses by a mile. When I want to cruise with my daughter and wife through the park it is close but not enough for me to enjoy the ride. But here is where this bike shines.... Commuting! This is an ideal commuter bike for runs up to 20 miles on relatively flat ground. See, there is a silver lining here! If you need a strong commuter, this is perfect in any generation. The Verve 2 has better equipment, but you can pick up a Verve 1 for $200 less and it is a well made bike. Great for COMMUTERS Frustrating for FITNESS Decent for RECREATION

Gearing seems to be more to the LOW side. Seems like I have 100 low gears that could pull a train but only one high gear for speed (could be its just the type of bike I bought).

              Comments:

The Verve has a slightly more upright riding position then the speedier models, and the handlebars are bent just slightly back which makes the bike comfortable and really nice to ride. It is still quite fast, light weight and handles well. It is great fun to ride.

                Comments:

This bike handles wonderful by keeping me in an upright position which is easier for me since I'm just starting out. Yet with the 21 gears, I can negotiate just about any road condition which allows me to grow into my usage of the bike and my excercise. I rode with a friend who didn't have a bike as well built or fitted for them not to mention the gears, and they could not keep up and I'm just a beginner while they are a former college basketball player. Just saying. BAM!!

I ride roughly 60-100 miles a week. Was in an accident and had a replacement for the 7000 shipped to me. This bike had all the best features of the 7000 stripped out. They toik away the the quick release front tire the adjustable handlebar stem, the shock absorbing seatpost and even the kickstand. So what do you get in return? Nothing really....okay disapointment. If you want a stock bike with nothing particularly nice about it...then throw away $400 of your hard earned money on this piece of junk.

The only negative is the seat, too hard. After my first long ride I replaced it with a softer, larger seat. Now good to go. Love this bike.
