I upgraded from a Trek 3900 to the EX6 to bridge the gap bewteen my hardtail and full suspension needs. The EX6 has surpassed my expetations when it comes to quality. The only thing lacking is the braking. After a few longer rides the brakes tend to howl and get mushy. Will be upgrading soon.
I only weigh 150lb so this is all I need to take 6ft drops with plush landing. But getting up a hill is a work out due to its weight. Stock tires work great on hard dry dirt but in wet dirt and mud condition it's like biking on ice. Changed to maxxis minon on front and high roller on back.
I use my bike on highly technical trails. Lots of roots, rock gardens, swampy areas. The bike handles excellent. I love this bike.
