      Comments:

Was looking to upgrade to a carbon bike. Can't believe how much faster & less fatiguing to ride. I ride 100 plus every week for health. Many roads are using chip & seal to recoat surface...making them difficult to enjoy the ride(ouch my butt!) Was use to a triple crank & not sure about the compact crank. Couldn't be more please with the ease & quickness of changing gears. Trek Domane has a winning combination in this bike. Don't hesitate to make the plunk! I'm almost 60 yrs old & this bike is fast & comfy for me.

      Comments:

I just changed from an aluminum trek 1.5 to this. I was looking for something comfortable but was also responsive and quick. This was the only bike that combimned both. Many of the bikes I tried would be comfortable but non responsive and felt soft, others were responsive but very hard to ride like my 1.5. The strangest feeling comes when your feet and hands feel the road vibrations but your backside feels almost nothing. The ability to keep the rear wheel on the ground when hitting rough pavement and clmbing is amazing as well. I put between 100 - 130 miles on the bike each week commuting, this bike has helped my body feel better after everyride, no more being beaten up every day by the horrible roads. One downside is that Trek has no imagination when it comes to colors, its black and white. It would be nice if they offered the TDF blue or something much more colorful. However the ride and performance of this bike is hard to match.

      Comments:

Love the bike as I am a new road biker! First thing I did after lots of research was make sure you have a good comfortable seat so you can last more than an hour on it. The Ultegra set up is a great set up but need better range on the rear gears so changed 105 11-28 cassette to Ultegra 11-23 makes riding at 18-20 mph nice and smooth less changes in Cadence!

      Comments:

Purchased this spring and ride 2-3 times per week since. It's been a great fitness tool, which was the primary reason I decided to invest in a bike. My Domane 4.5 delivers in every way. It handles so well, and is fast enough to keep up with the bike path speed demons when I choose to. The smooth ride encourages me to ride longer. I did have the bike shop upgrade my tires based on web research, and it makes a huge difference in the ride. They are also much less prone to punctures than the originally equipped tires. The bike shop was outstanding: they made sure I got the right bike, the right accessories and the proper fit. It's a comfortable and fast bike, just upgrade the tires if and when you are able to.

      Comments:

I rode my Trek FX 7.3 a lot last year. Over 1600 miles on it. But 60 + miles was a trial. Been there, got the ... you can probably understand: ouch! So, I wanted/needed a bike that could get me farther in a day's ride. (Keeping the 7.3 for bad weather, parking in DC, and the C&O - worked great on GAP.) While getting my 7.3 serviced, I test rode and fell in lust with the Specialized Roubais - but later tried the Trek Domane and fell in love! It just fit me better - and everything I liked about the Roubais, I found in the Domane as welland I thought the ride was smoother on uneven surfaces and I thought the ride was smoother on uneven surfaces. Been riding it since November. My LBS mounted the stem "upside-down" so that the frame fit me even better. So for me: 60 miles on the Domane feels like 30-35 on the 7.3. I feel ready for a century ride this spring/summer. I tend to ride more slowly than a lot of folks - but I've had some 16.9 mph 5 mile split times, so this bike can move. (Due the the DC area traffic, I really don't feel comfortable "fully engaging the bike".) The Ultegra set is smooth and precise. The bike is light, so it's pretty easy to climb. I seldom to almost never have to stand on the pedals to get up the hills. I kept the SPD pedals/shoes/cleats that I used on the 7.3. Not sure if the shoes/cleats/pedals are going to be comfortable for a century ride: but that's not about the bike. The saddle is OK. I think? Jury is out on that. But I tried several to get the right fit on my 7.3, but I'm not sure what to do on the Domane: I'm giving it a few more months & miles. If you are considering a Domane 2.x, consider a 4.x. The frame difference is noticeable (every ride).

      Comments:

With the weather changing, I've only been able to do a few 20 mile rides. Can't wait for my first century in the spring. This bike is VERY comfortable for me with lower back issues. For the package of components offered it compares very well at the price point. I wanted ultegra shifting and you can pay much more for this at the same weight.

      Comments:

I was a long time Trek Mountain bike rider who enjoyed a pleasant trail ride of up 20 miles. Needed a bike to ride with a friend who only had a road bike. I had tried all the other bikes out there and did not like the rough ride and pain in the backside I got. I knew the minute I got on this bike that I had found my new home. I can not get enough of riding this bike. I completed my metric century after just a couple of months and have increased my riding to 80 miles per week. I can go as far as my muscles will let me go. On my mountain bike, my body pain stopped me. I have lost 40 pounds and gotten back the weight I was at when I was 21 years old. I am almost 50 now. I have had the bike since August and have put over 700 miles on the bike already and have not had any issues - not even a flat tire. I could not recommend it any higher. It has saved my life by getting my weight down and physical conditioning to an amazing level.
