I am a 57 year old female and I want a bike to ride. I checked out what bikes were around and found the trek bikes. I found the FX 1 so I went to our local bike shop to buy it but ended up with the FX2 which is just awesome. I love this bike easy to ride, gears are easy to work, I have been doing 20 - 33km rides and feel great afterwards. Great bike

My husband got this bike for me for our 20th Anniversary. My first bike ever. I'm a runner who is just getting into cycling. It is very light weight and easy to handle. The gears were very easy to figure out. I have not found anything I do not like about my bike yet!

              Comments:

I bought this bike in June 2013. I hadn't ridden a bike in 20 years. The 7.2 FX is a great bike to ride as it is stable and well balanced in all conditions. I have ridden the bike in the rain, on dry pavement, on rough New England roads and dirt roads, and the bike is comfortable for me and feels secure in these conditions. It is also pretty quick to accelerate, if you peddle hard, you feel it surge forward under your feet. But you don't need to peddle hard if you don't wish to, as it is very easy to just cruise along. The bike feels very willing to go, no matter how fast or slow you peddle. I added fenders to help keep rain off me and a rear rack to carry panniers. It fits Ortleib panniers without a problem. I have the 17 inch size bike. Everything else is stock, including the saddle, which felt hard for the first month (but I think any saddle would have felt not great to me being so unused to bike riding then) but now the saddle feels great. I don't use bike shorts. I think the steel fork helps smooth out the ride, too. The only kind of negative thing I can say about the bike is that it doesn't stop great when it is raining. It does stop but it takes longer to stop, so just keep that in mind in wet conditions to give yourself enough distance to stop. I have done 30 miles at a time with this bike as my longest ride & I am planning some longer touring rides this summer. The more gear I load in the panniers, the smoother the bike feels. I love the tires at 35mm, they are just right, not too fat and not too thin. I have had only one flat in a year and the tires still look new after much riding. Can't wait to really tour this summer! This bike is versatile and to me it is a good value.

              Comments:

This was bought for my wife, who had a cheap bike several years ago from the local bike shop. We went to the Trek shop, where she tried the 7.2, and because of problems with one hip, has to have a step through, she didn't want the driving Miss Daisy type, so this is a good compromise. This is a superb bike, well built, good components, and looks nice as well. The first thing my wife noticed is how well it rolls, much better than the old bike, not being the most confident of riders, the step through frame gives her the confidence if she does get into a situation where she is unsure its easy to stop and get off. She was a bit miffed with no bell, but a trip back to Trek and one given FOC, enough said. She doesn't see herself ever changing the bike

Looked at quite a few other bikes but this seemed to be a great value for me. To be honest, I don't need a $4000 bike to impress someone else and I'm not racing so this was perfect. I ride alone and with the puncture resistent tires it should be good to keep me from having to fix a flat. My only disappointment so far is the weather has prevented me from riding - rain or snow! Seat is comfortable too!

This bike was my first real, grownup bike and I couldn't love it any more than I do. I have had it almost a year now and it has held up amazingly well. I commute to class on it, a few miles each day. I also ride 8-12 miles on it every once in a while for fitness. The seat it comfortable and the frame is light. My only complaint would be that the handles are a bit uncomfortable, but they are fine if you wear gloves.

I bought this bike for myself as an adjunct to the gym. Because I haven't biked since I was a kid some 45 years ago, I'm taking it slowly, riding in 5 mile increments. So far I'm feeling stable, confident, and that the bike is well constructed and comfortable. This bike will certainly take me from novice to experienced rider in comfort and style, and it is well suited for a serious workout. I'm happy with my purchase.
