      Comments:

I was sitting on the fence for a few months about buying a bike in general. I was a runner( a few half marathons a year), but it was becoming more difficult for me to keep up that pace. During the hot humid mid Atlantic summers, running would completely drain me. Not to mention the toll I was beginning to feel in my legs. Realizing I wasn't exercising much at all, I decided to give biking a try. I did quite of bit of research into the style of bike I wanted and went to a bike shop to try out the 7.2 FX. I didn't want to spend to much on my first bike just in case I didn't care for biking. I even considered getting a bike from a department store. After trying one, I realized it was worth the few extra dollars to get something nice. I have not been disappointed. In less than 3 weeks I have already ridden over 200 miles and have enjoyed it. I do not feel drained after exercising and am actually refreshed. I would ride more if I had the time. I look forward to my rides and am motivated to exercise again. For someone looking for an alternative to running. I would strongly recommend getting this bike. The only draw back is the seat was uncomfortable at first. But the more I ride and aftere a few minor adjustments it has become less of an issue.

        Comments:

I really like this bike. It is my first bike in years, but I am quite impressed. It is fairly light weight and has a smooth ride. I know it can be changed, but the grips are a bit too gel like for my taste. My initial test drive didn't realize it, but they become slick and somewhat uncomfortable on longer rides. The gears and overall mechanical feel of the bike are amazing. I went with the 7.2 over the 7.1 for the more modern and light design.

        Comments:

Ive been running 4 times a week for a while now but wanted to add biking to the mix since the running eventually starts to take its toll on your knees and stuff. I bought this Trek after owning one many years back that I liked. This is a great bike and im very hapy with it. The components are excellent, everything works smoothly, and the bike is fast. Its a quality bike all around. I feel the 7.2 model is worth the upgrades over the base model. You get a better crank, better pedals, and I believe a better derailer. The only negatives would be the uncomfortable stock seat and the fact that the bike is supposedly a hyrid but I can tell you right now that off road it would NOT work well at all! It doesnt take bumps that great on the street and really jars you if you hit a bump or whatever. Its a stiff bike and frame. Strong, but not very giving. So, IMO this is a street bike for pavement and thats it. Otherwise, I LOVE my Trek! Highly recommended for pavement or fine gravel use.

After being off a bike for 15 years this bike was the one I wish I had when I had to get off one. A smooth ride on pavement, and ease of operation make this bike a good one or the recreational or commute. I did a lot of research before getting this bike and for the money this bike was a winner all the way around. If you are looking for a bike that will make your commute, and relational ride a pleasure the FX 7.2 is a great choice. There are a number of components that may not be the very best but, the quality of the components on this bike will service you for years. Overall a good bike for the money!

I bought this bike after not owning one for 34 years. Raced BMX as a kid and wanted a hybrid in case i wanted to go off-roading some. So far have popped a few wheelies and at 50 either stupid or easy bike to ride, or both. But seems light-weight to me and really good qaulity for the money. Am enjoying riding againa and did not want to spend too much as first bike back. I have never owned a bike before with gears so take this part with a grain of salt, but the componenents seem good quality and shift quickly and easily. Hope this helps.

              Comments:

I ride about 75 miles a week between work and school and this bike does it all for me. I traded in my early 80's Trek roadbike for the 7.2 FX and couldn't be happier. It's not as fast as my roadbike, I've gotten up to 32MPH on the FX so it's quick enough for my purposes of riding to work and trips along the lakefront. I only ride on the streets and paved biking trails, if I wanted to off road I would have purchased another bike. Longest single ride so far was about 20 miles and it was smooth the whole way. The tires are great, in Milwaukee along the Hank Aaron trail on which I ride a vagrant smashes beer bottles along the path right before Miller Park and the tires have withstood near daily rides over the broken glass. Maybe the cops will get him one day but that's not Trek's problem.

I try to bike at least two days a week. This can be tough considering I am in college and work full time. After the harsh winter, I was a bit out of shape and was having a hard time keeping up on my Trek mountain bike. I decided to find something light weight and inexpensive. I really feel I made the best choice, I am able to keep up with my riding partner now. It's also a comfortable ride. I really love my new bike, of course I still have the mountain bike for my off road adventures.

                    Comments:

I use this bike mostly for riding in NYC and it is perfect. I upgraded from a Navigator 2.0 as I was looking for more of a fitness bike but I am definitely not a road bike type of guy. I'm a 56 year old male so I am not looking to set speed records but I still want to work hard and get fit but my ultimate goal is to have fun. This bike is light and fast and looks great too in the matte black finish. I've read many reviews that complain about the seat but I've gone 60 miles in over 4 hours and had no complaints. Seems to be a great bike for the money. When I first decided to buy bike a few years ago, I bought the Navigator because of it's comfort when I first rode it. Fairly quickly though I wished I had bought more of a hybrid first. I kept the Navigator though as a spare, you know, just in case.
