    Comments:

I have been using this bike for several weeks now and have a few hundred miles on it. I generally use this bike with a child trailer attached to the back which does add quite a bit of weight but that was what this bike was recommended to me for. The biggest issue I have had has been shifting I have needed the store to adjust the shifting a few times because even without trailer attached I had trouble shifting with the chain just dropping off. But I do go up extremely steep hills with this bike and it has been up to the challenge so far. I can coast pretty well on regular ground but 25mph is about top speed for comfort before the bike doesn't feel stable.

      Comments:

I bought this bike in an effort to start exercise an loose weight aka middle age. First couple of rides the seat was uncomfortable but the dealer said to persist and you will get used to it - and it did. My first initial rides were around 20km until just recently i was up around 60km. Don't expect to be overtaking any road bikes as it is a different riding position/experience. Did take a couple of visits bake to the store for some minor adjustments as things settled in which is to be expected. I have done about 2000km on it now and have only just upgraded to a carbon fiber bike. Overall the trek 7.1 was a great bike and i would definitely recommend.

Been a great bike so far, had it a few months and put about 500 miles on it. Was disappointed when I had a spoke break just going down the trail, local bike shop fixed it fast and got me on my, only to have another one break the very next ride. Glad they were able to get me a new wheel, but will definitely be looking to upgrade soon.

      Comments:

I'll start by saying I using don't enjoy cycling because my legs usually tire quickly. I bought this bike for a 200 mile bike ride on the C&O canal, which we did in 4 days. The bike was smooth for me the entire time. I added a memory foam cover for the seat, which was perfect. I carried ~30 pounds extra on the trip and the bike carried the weight well (approx. load was 155 pounds). I need to take back to the store and have them fix the gears because it does not shift into 1st, which was only a problem when we found a rare hill. I will be switching out the handle bars and pedals to start using this for long road rides.

        Comments:

I recently got this bike to replace a classic old Raleigh 10 speed. The old bike was gathering dust since I moved to the Ohio suburbs, where road riding means very poor country roads and gravel shoulders, feeling every crack in the road. The Trek 7.1 is mostly road bike, but it cushions all bumps and effortlessly goes over rough shoulder areas, as comfortably as can be expected. The wide gear range means it will take on any grade. I am back riding! The bike looks and feels excellent except that I was surprised that the lack of rake does not allow it to balance hands-off even briefly. The seat to me is very comfortable. The precise click shifting was new too me. I liked the mountain bike style brakes a lot. In addition to commuting 7 miles, I like to take 30-40 mile rides when I'm off, and this bike is fine for that. If I could specialize in riding real nice roads, I guess I would get a road bike.

i ride my 7.1 to work 5 days a week to work(60miles)& apprx. 40miles on wknds. I have lost a lot of lbs. like everyone else no one wants to exercise, but this bike feels more like fun than exercise! The only negative thing about this bicycle is that it comes with no KICKSTAND, but you can purchase one for around $10.00 The trek 7.1 is the best thing to hit the STREETS.

After seeing this post on reddit and bike rumor, I decided to try this bike out for myself. Needless to say, I couldn't be happier. Although I didn't get "straight white girl wasted" before riding, I'm happy with my purchasing decision. I hope nobody steals it from me. If they do, I hope I get a coupon for free food, too. http://www.bikerumor.com/2013/04/24/as-seen-on-reddit-the-considerate-bike-thief/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BikeRumor+%28Bike+Rumor+RSS%29

I was in the market for a bike for some months. Trying to pick a good comfortable that wasn't to expensive wasn't easy. The sale man assured me that this was the bike for me. I was somewhat hesitant as i am 105Kg and wasn't sure it would hold up. I am glad i made the purchase. My first ride out was 20km. The bike didnt miss a beat. Thought seat would be uncomfortable but because i had the guy at shop adjust the right height i was fine. The only soreness was in my wrists. I might invest in some handle bar extension just to provide an alternate riding position. Could be be because i havent ridden in 5 years as well.

            Comments:

I bought this bike seeking an alternative way to exercise and I could not be happier. This is my first "real" bike. All my previous bikes were purchased from your large chain stores. My first test ride was at the bike store and almost immediately I could tell the difference in quality between this new 7.1 and the old chain store bike. Really there is no comparison between the two. I have not looked forward to biking in a long time but this bike leaves me wanting and excited for my next ride. The Pros: solid feel, quick to accelerate, easy to shift, looks great! Cons: the seat can be uncomfortable but I usually notice it After i'm done riding, You feel all the bumps in the road. Other than the seat and bumps this bike is the best bike I have ever owned and has given me a new found enjoyable activity!!!
