2012 Trek 3700

Trek's 3700 is a comfortable, versatile ride that's at home on trails and tarmac. It sports Trek's nimble Silver Series aluminum frame and a plush 100mm-travel SunTour suspension fork for a light, lively ride and confidence over rocks, roots, potholes—you name it. You'll enjoy easy pedaling and complete control thanks to the quick-shifting 21-speed drivetrain, big, knobby tires and grippy mechanical-disc brakes. Plus, you'll love the comfy Bontrager seat.

    Comments:

This is my "spare" mountainbike. It is a good bike, but the website advertised it as a mountain bike and it clearly isn't. The geometry is not right for good fast trail riding. The tires on it sucked, so I bought new ones for it. The brakes were very weak as well. Now 1 year in, the fork is just about to break. However, it handles great because of the 26" wheels. The 3700 Disk is clearly not the bike for me, or anyone I ride with.

I just got this bike and it was worth every penny.I use the bike for getting around my city and for trail riding, great bike. The front breaks are starting to sound loud when pressure is applied, the seat is very uncomfortable,I would suggest a gel seat,i intend to upgrade the breaks. I would have to rate this bike at 4.5 only because of the breaks and seat, otherwise a perfect 5 star bike.

    Comments:

Trek 3700 is a pretty good bike. Good gear shifting, ok breaking. I found the seat to be uncomfortable while the handle bars are alittle too high (they couldve been alittle lower. My usage of the bike is asphat roads, slighty bumpy trails, hopping off the curbs and found its a great bike for me. The reveiws you find on the net are mainly on downhill expert trails. No one has really given a good reveiw on regular use, which most of us use any bike within a ten mile radius around home. Anyway a great bike!!

    Comments:

I typically use this bike for riding relatively flat trails. There are slight inclines, but nothing too difficult- I'm not in the best of shape. I bought it to replace my previous 3500 which was stolen, and what a difference! Even with the same tires, there is a huge difference! Mine is the 2011 model.

    Comments:

One of the best products with great features..... I have used it for more than 6 weeks for daily commuting, weekend mountain ride, trail, off road, wet surface, etc. you name it, its ready. One of the best features is, it gives you the confidence- "I CAN DO IT, NOTHING CAN STOP ME"... Had put a month long research before buying it, worth every moment I spent on the research..... What we need today is only a little more comfortable seat (I got used to the seat within a month, though sometimes its tough to handle). ALways ready for a ride no matter what the terrain is, its always up for the challenge.... I somehow was worried about the monsoon, but it so happened that it proved itself even in the rains....... I will always recommend TREK, so that you can say "Nothing can stop me".....

This Bike is Beautiful; I love everything about it except the tektro mechanical disk brakes. They were annoying, and very loud. This was not an issue as I have replaced them with Avid BB7 Disk brakes. This bike is highly recommended, I only gave it 4/5 stars because of the brakes.

      Comments:

This is my second review for this bike. I love everything about this bike except the brakes. After only about 150 miles, the rear brakes failed. when I applied the brakes, the torque arm popped and the pads released from the rotor leaving me without brakes! I took it to my local dealer who said that this was not normal and he "reset" them. It has done this three times which I had to have fixed each time. He told me that he could replace them under warranty with the same brand that came on the bike, Tektro Novela. I didn't want to do this because I figured that these were just poor brakes so I upgraded them to Avid BB7's. No more brake problems! I also replaced my tires with Continental Mountain King II tires because the stock tires are terrible for single track riding. They just don't hook up good on lose dirt. All in all this is a great bike! I don't regret buying it and would buy it again but I would have the breakes upgraded!

        Comments:

Have had my 3700 for a year. Rode a Trek 930 before. Have put over 200 miles on the 3700. The brakes stopped squeaking after a couple of months. I beat the heck out of this bike and have not had a single issue. Streams, deep mud, rocks and tree trunks have all been crossed. Will probably buy another for my 14 year old son who is outgrowing his 17" Trek 820. Wouldn't want to race it because of the weight and 26" rims that get hung up on obstacles that 29ers can cross, but it's great for this weekend warrior.
