    Comments:

I have happily been the owner of the 3900D for about 8 months, mostly off road/single trak riding, but the occasional long distance ride, so far its held up well. comfortable and responsive. considering the price this bike punches well above its weight, I changed the pedals though to pegged flats, though that was purely a personal choice really, In reality for an off the shelf bike in this price range. your will be hard pushed to find a better bike,

When introduced to Trek family I was confused which models are suitable for me! Short listing the hard tails, I started looking at the 3 series (cos was afraid of maintaining hydraulic brake systems). When finally I decided, my wife just gave me a 3900disc as a present instead of a 3500disc! better ehh? Using it a a weekend exercise breaktime, gave me a lot of a new world in the countryside. Thanks also to our local dealer who patiently explained each and every component of various Trek models!

This is my first Trek I have owned after hearing off a friend how robust and strong the frames are.I do about 70 miles a week which includes cycling to work and using at the weekend. This bike so far has been awesome, the geometry is perfect for all occasions.Average components for the price but still work great, suspension forks work well for road and light trail use.All in all a good entry level bike to get started on, and i know ill personally be progressing through to the higher models of Treks bikes as my confidence grows in mountain biking! thanks Trek.

I have been using this bike for weekend trekking and a general run around. I have also experienced the squeaky brakes issue, but this was quickly resolved by putting shoe polish on the disk and rotating a few times. Besides that, I am pretty happy with this bike.

Ran 13 marathons and am now transitioning to biking. This bike does the trick! I ride in town on streets without much traffic, and this bike performs exceptionally well. I am riding twice a day for an hour each ride, and I couldn't be more pleased with this bike.

                  Comments:

Purchased this bike from the local shop and the owner gave me a deal since i was trying to fix up my Iron Horse and my other got stolen in January. Very comfortable and pretty fast compared to my last two which surprised me. My only complaint that the materials that the discs where made of were either defective or just made of shotty metal. They started rusting on me after only having it a month. The discs are supposed to made out of stainless steel which should not rust. Now I have had disc brakes since 03 and i ride my bike through all sorts of weather and i have never seen a bit of rust on any of them. The brakes are indeed lackluster and lack stopping power and do squeal. I traded it in for the Gary Fischer Marlin 29'er which has the same brakes but different discs.

                    Comments:

I ride to school, a long way, so I decided I needed a new bike for Christmas. when i first tested the bike, i fell in love with it - it was so smooth and comfortable. the gears and the breaks worked very well. i showed my freinds and they all comented on the amazing look and features on it. after a while, i took it to the long tracks outside of london. hit a few roots alot, fell off a few times but nothing broke. unfortunatly a theif stole my bike one day who destroyed the bolts when i locked it up in north london, but i can say i was bonded to the bike not only becuase i relied on it, but for its great quality and smoothness. its very strong too and the price is great. the only little con is that the seat can be annoying and uncomfortable after riding constantly for a while, say 20 miles, but other than that i dont think there are any other problems i had. if your looking for a bike that is durable, strong, smooth and reliable, then i would definitly recomend this.
