At the Trek Bicycle Store, bikes are our passion. We love riding them, working on them, talking about them and sometimes we love just staring at them. In each of our stores, you'll find a friendly and accommodating staff trained to put your needs above all else. We'll listen to you and do our best to make sure we send you out the door with a smile on your face.
We are proud to announce the winners of the 2008 Go By Bike Challenge.
Omaha Nicholas
Schopperth & Kristin Williams
Kansas City Kristen D.
Klint & Brian Shields
St. Louis Gene Cahill & Karen LeClerc
The six winners received a free Trek FX bike, a cycling jersey and essential gear to help them become bicycle lifestyle champions. During the month of May, National Bike Month, they will ride their bikes for short trips and keep us all informed with stories and pictures from their adventures. Thanks to everyone who submitted, and please, ride your bikes for short trips. Working together, we can make our community a better place.

Ride your bike for short trips and save the world. Did you know that the emission control systems on cars don't function effectively in the first few minutes of running? So all of those seemingly harmless short trips by car are highly polluting. We think that the people in our community are willing to join us in an effort to use bikes as a solution.
Your friendly neighborhood Midwest Cycling stores, along with our partners at Trek Bicycles, empowered 6 local bicycle lifestyle champions to Go By Bike.
The Trek Bicycle Stores in Kansas City and St. Louis, along with Highgear Bicycle Store and the Trek Bicycle Store in Omaha, selected one male and one female from each city to participate in the Go By Bike Challenge.
Did you know that 50% of all car trips taken in the USA
are less than two miles?
As cycling advocates, we know that is an easy bike ride. Our stores work
closely with Trek Bicycles to provide several educational opportunities like this one to help
our friends in the community learn more about how bicycles can change the world.
One World, Two Wheels is a part of Trek’s global commitment to
helping the world become a more bicycle friendly place.
With the world facing
skyrocketing obesity rates, escalating traffic congestion and the concerns of
global climate change, the bicycle is an ideal solution.
A key goal of One World, Two Wheels is to increase US trips taken by bicycle to 5% from the current 1% by 2017.
